Masatake used his good arm to smash through a table in the small room he called his own. Rage lit up his face, helpless anger at the fools his employer had sent along to ensure the job was done properly. "DAMNIT!" he roared, breaking apart another object of furniture. "Rikudo was the only one who needed to die! The child was not evil!" He threw his fist at the wall. Fujiko caught it and stopped his momentum before it got there. "It was not your fault." she said, trying to calm him before he destroyed the entire room. "You could not have expected Doku's thugs to do what they did." Masatake glared. His arm and his leg had been bandaged, but it would take some time before they would heal. That one kid, with the orange eyes - those strange eyes - had hit him after his comrade fell. Fujiko had told him about what happened afterwords: Nenshoukaze unleashed a demon inside of himself, an became a monster for a short time. He passed out immediately after. Masatake shook his head angrily and stomped away as the door to the room opened. "What's this, eh?" said the small, fat man who stood in the entrance. "My grand dispenser of justice can't even finish this pathetically skilled evil man AND comes away wounded? Who can you trust nowadays, huh?" The two ninja who flanked him laughed stupidly. Each of them wielded a double sided katana, one end slightly longer than the other. "Shutup, Doku." Masatake said, gritting his teeth. "Your thugs messed up and killed an innocent, a girl who had no reason to be killed!" At this, Doku seemed to be saddened. He lowered his head in a respectful gesture. "Yes, I heard. I am sorry for that, it was under no directive of mine, I assure you. My mission is the same as yours: I ensure that justice is dealt to the evil men who deserve it." Doku looked Masatake straight in the eye. "Do not fail again." Masatake's eyes hardened. "The demon Rikudo will die in one week." he promised. Doku nodded and left, waiting until they were out of the entire building to snicker. "Foolish shinobi!" he cackled. "Your honor is an outdated relic, and has no place in a world of business!" *** Kaguske sat at his master's bedside with Nenji, waiting for their master to awake. After the hunter-nin forcefully dragged Kaze, Keiko, and Nenji, who had to be knocked out to be taken along, to the village, she disappeared. Needless to say, Nenji was not pleased when he awoke. Koshi had taken them to his house to rest, and now they had all been waiting for their sensei to awaken. Kaguske sighed as he thought back to the battle they had fought, and the life that had ended. He remembered then, something that had been bugging him since the battle ended. "Nenji..." he said, turning to his teammate, "Did...did something happen with my eyes during the battle? I felt...something odd..." OOC:The answer is yep, the strange orange eyes of the takagan, or hawk's eyes |

Nenji, who had been quitely focusing, half in meditation and half awake, as he attempted to figure out how to better make use of his newly discovered Zenchigan. When he was interrupted, he became, needless to say, rather irritated. He wasn't angry, exactly; he was getting better about his temper. He was, nevertheless, less than interested in Kaguske's silly questions. Nenji tried his best, for their fallen comrade's sake and for their sensei's sake, to tolerate the boy, but he had never been particularly fond of him in the first place. "What, your eyes?" asked the young Genin, quite sarcastically. "Yes, you closed them and hid out of fear. Hah!" Nenshoukaze didn't stir, for he was still very much unconscious. His eyelids were calm, for he was not even dreaming. He simply did not have the energy. When the Onigan took over, Nenshoukaze was in such a fury that it decided to go all out -- it forcefully activated all five levels of his Zenchigan, and opened five gates. Besides that, it utilized Nenshoukaze's control of the release of his chakra through any tenketsu to create almost a solid layer of explose chakra about his entire body. Though would have wounded and propelled backwards anyone who touched him while it was active, and added quite a whallop to his punches, it soaked up chakra like a sponge soaks up water. All of these combined to leave Nenshoukaze utterly drained, and, despite the great amount of chakra he could muster, near death from chakra depletion. It was a miracle that he was still alive. |

"Hey there, kids," he said as he caught the shot Nenji made at Kaguske, "This isn't the time or place for silly bickering. This may be my house, but it doesn't mean it's safe." Kaguske looked at Koshi for second or two before even thinking of a response. "Why was that man after you, anyway?" Kaguske asked. "All you really ever told us was that you 'got into some serious shit with the wrong people.' I think we have a right to know." Koshi chuckled. "So you do, lad, so you do. But I'd rather not have to repeat myself, so let's wait until your teacher's awake, eh?" OOC:yeah, what was the why? |

Right on cue, Nenshoukaze's eyes opened slowly. He felt horrible. He imagined it was like experiencing the worst possible hangover and the worst possible withdrawl at the same time, after having had every single bone in the body broken in several places. Thankfully, the medics of the village had given him powerful drugs to dull the pain, but he still felt as though bags upon bags of cotton were stuffed in his head and limbs, and had he not known better he might've suspected that he'd just run half-way around the world without stretching before or after. Slowly, the events of the previous day returned. The walking, the battles, thet death, and then the eerie dull flashes of consciousness that he always associated with losing control of the Onigan. "So, Keiko..." he stuttered, trying to gain enough control of his body to speak properly. Nenji sensed what he was trying to ask, and hurried to answer. "Yeah, we buried her already. I've got her forhead protector," he explained almost morosely. For the moment, at least, his sharp tongue was softened. Though he hadn't particularly cared for Keiko, she was nevertheless a comrade, and Nenji felt just as bad as everyone else that he wasn't able to do anything. "I thought maybe her parents might like it or something." Nenshoukaze nodded, closing his eyes for a moment. Though he couldn't be sure, he sensed that he'd been unconscious for just less than a day -- probably enough time for his body to recover. All he needed was a bit more time to rest and rid himself of the anesthetics. "So," Nenshoukaze began again, his voice noticably stronger, "it's high time you... explain the situation... a bit better." |

"There is a very powerful man here in Sand Country, he goes by the name Doku." He said, staring idly at some spot on the wall. "He recently began to take control of all of the smaller villages, making secret pacts with their shinobi, luring them to his side with promises of power. Those who didn't join with him, he'd have the ones already with him destroy. However, he kept himself from being directly linked to any of these crimes for a long time. No one even knew he was even involved. But now..." Koshi shook his head. "I was sitting in a field, sketching the forms of nature I observed as practice. I heard a loud bang and a shot of fire rise from the Hidden Mushroom Village nearby. I ran over to help the survivors, but when I arrived, Doku was standing over the villagers, who were either unconcious or restrained. He said to the one who appeared to be the leader: 'Will you change your mind and save your village?' The man snorted and replied, 'Joining you would destroy our village in the same way. Doku merely snapped his fingers and then several shinobi came and brutally murdered all of the villagers, women and children and the elderly, without discrimination. I couldn't watch anymore. I began to run away. Doku spotted me as I ran. I made it away safely, thanks to a single ninja who escaped the previous slaughter. He held off my pursuers, even though it killed him. I..." Koshi stopped and dropped his head. "I can't ever repay that man for his sacrifice, nor can I cleanse the cries of the suffering from my mind. I informed the Kazekage of Doku's misdeeds, and word swiftly spread. Now his original plan for an easy and silent takeover has been ruined. Doku knows I still live, and will pursue my forever for spoiling his plans. Please, shinobi of Konohagakure...Stop this madman!" Kaguske clenched his fist in anger upon the evils listed in Koshi's story. /I...I can never forgive you.../ he thought. After the anger passed, another issue came to Kaguske's mind. "Sensei..." he said, as if just now remembering, "Why did that Sand Ninja know you? Just who the hell is he?" |

"You don't want to hear it." Nenji raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms, unimpressed.
"Actually, I'd like to hear this, too," he said flatly. "What brought you to be on such terms with someone from Sand? I mean, he acted like you were friends, yet was trying to kill you! Is that just how you are with everyone you meet?" Nenshoukaze casually backhanded the young Genin, masking well the pain he felt from moving so quickly. "We met during a Chuunin Exam, hosted in Konoha," Nenshoukaze said, slightly annoyed. "Like I said, it's a long story." Nenji looked like he was about to protest as he rubbed his cheek, but Nenshoukaze interrupted him: "And unless you want today's training to involve five hundred one-hand-stand pushups on both arms, you won't ask anything else for now." That brought silence to the Genin's lips quicker than lightning. "Besides, we have more pressing matters at hand. If we are to protect Rikudo-san, we must deal wit hthis Doku. Ideally, we could convert Masatake to an ally, but so far that doesn't seem like a viable option. Koshi, do you have any idea where this Doku hides out? Until we can find Masatake on neutral ground, perhaps scouting out Doku's place is a good strategy." |
